PBR Champ Adriano Moraes Competing Despite Injuries

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (August 10, 2004) - 1994 and 2001 PBR World Champion Adriano Moraes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) will continue to compete despite a broken left cheek with involvement to the eye socket sustained in the Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) event, BULLNANZA-Oklahoma City on August 7th in Oklahoma City, Okla. Moraes had surgery to repair the fractures on Monday, August 9th in Dallas, TX. Dr. Tandy Freeman, official on-site doctor of the PBR, says, "Adriano is doing well. From a physical standpoint, it shouldn't affect his riding. I think the biggest effect will be that he'll need to wear a helmet when he comes back."

Moraes will compete in the next BFTS event, which is in Reno, Nev. on September 10th and 11th. "I will not let this injury slow down my riding," says Moraes.

Fans can see for themselves. BULLNANZA-Reno will air on the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) on September 11th and 12th at 8:00 p.m. (EST).
